The Frontier
Light the sign, not the street. The Frontier’s 20cm angled silhouette does the one thing a sign light must: it throws light back at the wall it’s mounted to, so the sign — or the menu board, the house number, the brickwork — gets lit without glare spilling everywhere else. Hand-spun in aluminium at our Carrum Downs workshop, IP44-rated as standard, E27 lampholder to 60W. Pick the mount that suits the job: gooseneck for the shopfront, dual arm for wide fascias, stem for cleaner lines, flush factory arm for tight walkways, or long-arm Ranch for the verandah.

The classic arrangement — the angled shade rides a gooseneck arm and aims squarely back at the wall behind it. This is the fixture you’ll recognise from restaurant menu boards and shopfront fascias: honest, directed light that takes any E27 globe up to 60W, with nothing proprietary to burn out or chase spares for.

Two Frontier shades on one durable die-cast wall mount, covering the span a single beam can’t. Made for gallery walls, awnings and wide signage — run several across a facade and the logo, the menu and the entry each get their share of light. Same 20cm angled shade, doubled up.

Shade, straight stem, wall plate — no curves. Where the gooseneck reads vintage, the stem mount reads cleaner and more architectural, suiting newer builds and signage where the fixture shouldn’t be the feature. The angled shade still throws its light back at the wall; it just gets there in a straighter line.

A low-profile flush arm keeps the shade tucked close to the wall — the pick for walkways, side paths and anywhere a projecting arm would catch a shoulder. The Frontier’s adjustability earns its keep here: rotate the shade clockwise to aim the beam at brickwork, a doorway, or down the path.

The long-arm Ranch gooseneck carries the shade well clear of the wall — a farmhouse-styled reach for verandahs, gable ends and entries where the light needs to stand off the cladding. IP44-rated like the rest of the family, with the same soft, directed wash once the sun goes down.

The Frontier off the wall entirely: a post mount that turns the angled shade into a pier and gate light. Set it on a letterbox pillar or a driveway post — decorative by day, functional by night, with the same hand-spun 20cm shade and E27 lampholder pointed at the ground instead of the sign.
