There’s a quiet confidence to the Loma Half Sphere. Spun by hand from a single disc of aluminium into a deep, clean half-dome, it’s a pendant that anchors a room without ever shouting for attention — modern enough to feel current, simple enough to never date.
It’s at its very best hung low over a kitchen island bench, or strung in a row of two or three down the length of a dining or kitchen table. The deep half-sphere shade casts a warm, focused pool of light straight onto the benchtop or tabletop — ideal for prep, plating and long, lingering dinners — while its generous lip tucks the bulb out of sight and keeps glare away from everyone seated beneath it.
Out of the box, every Loma is IP44 rated — sealed against dust and splashing water, and genuinely outdoor-rated — so it’s as at home over a covered alfresco table or outdoor kitchen as it is indoors. For full coastal and all-weather exposure, step up to the IP55 Beacon Caged upgrade. Choose your diameter, from a compact 30cm through to a generous 50cm statement piece, and finish it in any colour from our hand-applied powdercoat palette — from soft architectural neutrals to deep, saturated tones.
Every shade is hand-spun in our Carrum Downs workshop — shaped on a lathe, not pressed in a die. We work in aluminium for three reasons:

Our ability as a manufacturer is to supply you with options, far exceeding your local lighting store. Have you purchased a wall light, and would have loved it to be a pendant instead, or decided it was too big on first impressions and needed to downsize? We can offer you this service, and a touch more. We offer no charge to down-size the shade, however charge the cost of the difference (ie $20) plus freight incurred by us as a courtesy. The same hand-spun shade and cast fittings, dropped from a powdercoated 4.8 mm steel chain with the cable threaded discreetly through the links. Choose your drop length and chain finish — black zinc, white zinc, or paint-to-match. IP44 outdoor rated as standard, with a Beacon caged + jelly-jar IP55 upgrade for exposed and coastal positions. We spin the aluminium, powdercoat it and wire it to order in Melbourne.
