Changes to Australia Post Cut-Off Dates have been brought forward

While the Weather is certainly wild in its own right – transportation delays continue to wreck havoc upon delivery time frames and we’re doing our best here at Barn Light to ship products out in a timely fashion.

While our lead-times have not changed, the impact of freight via Australia Post becomes an ever-present concern due to floods, derailments, lack of (guaranteed) express services, lack of labour, and inconsistencies in delivery time-frames.

Australia Post has commenced weekend deliveries in anticipation of Christmas Rush however also adding Black Friday/Cyber Monday to an otherwise busy month.

Pre-Christmas Delivery Dates

If you require delivery prior to Christmas Day, please ensure your order is placed prior to the 1st of December 2022 in order to receive your parcels in the lead-up to Christmas.

Anticipated Lead-times

Businesses/Designers/Contractors are encouraged to contact Barn Light (03 8743 5500) to get an estimated time-frame where hand-over dates are concerned. Whilst we will always do our best to provide a time-frame, we’re at the mercy of Australia Post’s own services unless you decide to arrange your own freight (using your own account) or otherwise opting for Express Post services.

New Zealand Shipments

Refer to “Standard Parcels” for the expected Lead-Times. Orders placed prior to the 1st of December have a higher likelihood of arriving pre-Christmas due to Customs clearances (Inland Revenue Services also).

Christmas Freight to Western Australia

Parcel Post items sent to Western Australia from the east coast of Australia may take up to an additional two weeks to be delivered (based on our current estimates).

Heavy rain and flooding has closed the Sydney-to-Perth rail line. The Melbourne-to-Adelaide rail link is also closed due to damage caused by a train derailment; the reopening date is unknown at this stage.

Our Express Post service is not affected by the rail closures. If you need to send items to Western Australia urgently, consider this option. Please note that as more customers opt to use this service, there may be a two-day delivery delay.

Our priority is the safety of our team members affected by the floods who are following the direction of local authorities.

Delays to scheduled deliveries and collections varies by area. Tracked items are being scanned, and we’ll continue to keep you updated as information becomes available.
