The Byron is defined by its clean, semi-domed silhouette – a shape that manages to feel vintage, modern, and high-end all at once. Its compact proportions make it the ideal choice for “precision” lighting; it’s perfect for flanking a bathroom mirror, illuminating a bedroom study nook, or providing a warm, welcoming glow over a residential doorway.
Despite its smaller footprint, the Byron is engineered for maximum light performance. The semi-dome shade allows the light source to be subtly recessed, shielding the eyes from direct glare while the open-face design disperses a soft, ambient glow far and wide. It provides the perfect blend of focused task lighting and broad atmospheric illumination, ensuring your space is “well-lit” without feeling overwhelmed by a larger fixture.
Like all our flagship models, the Byron is handcrafted in our workshop from premium, Australian-sourced aluminium. This heavy-duty construction ensures a “fit-and-forget” durability that flimsy imports simply cannot match.
Standard IP44 Protection: Our standard Byron is fully outdoor-rated and protected against splashing water. It is a reliable and elegant choice for protected patios, laundry rooms, and interior hallways.
The Beacon (formerly Atomic) IP55 Upgrade: For those in harsh coastal environments or exposed rainy climates, the Caged Beacon version is the ultimate investment. By adding our die-cast “Bunker” cage and protective glass, the fixture achieves a superior IP55 rating, protecting it from dust ingress and low-pressure water jets for a lifetime of maintenance-free beauty.
Every shade is hand-spun in our Carrum Downs workshop — shaped on a lathe, not pressed in a die. We work in aluminium for three reasons:

Our ability as a manufacturer is to supply you with options, far exceeding your local lighting store. Have you purchased a wall light, and would have loved it to be a pendant instead, or decided it was too big on first impressions and needed to downsize? We can offer you this service, and a touch more. We offer no charge to down-size the shade, however charge the cost of the difference (ie $20) plus freight incurred by us as a courtesy.
